Center Re-Brand
North Side Learning Center is a youth and adult education center located on the North Side of Syracuse, NY. Their mission is to foster literacy and self-sufficiency, no matter your situation or age. While working as a lead designer at Solon Quinn Studios, the non-profit organization approached us with the need for a recognizable yet friendly logo that reflects their mission for learning at all levels and ages.

The meaning behind the logo came from our research into the predominantly Muslim and refugee communities that use North Side’s services. The olive branch represents growth and starting fresh, pointing in the northeast direction towards Mecca. The shape surrounding the branch calls to that of a prayer niche (a spot dedicated to prayer and peace) to reflect the welcoming and safe aura we wanted to help portray. More balanced hues of teal and green were also used to support this.
