Access CNY offers a broad spectrum of different programs for people of all ages and abilities, with the goal of helping them reach their full potential. One of the services offered is Exploring Your World Preschool: featuring 5 inclusive classrooms with no more than 12 students in a class, lead by a certified Special Education teacher and numerous different teaching assistants. The preschool serves children aged 3-5 who come from any school district in Onondaga County.
Though preschool age is a bit young to have a yearbook, the learning style and activities at Exploring Your World are very social and hands-on, so the yearbook ended up doubling as a coloring book and way of showing appreciation and friendship to each other by the children signing the pages and finding their photos throughout the book. Different superlative awards were also showcased for each student with a simpler spin – such as best dancer, kindest helper, and best buddies.

Access CNY - Exploring Your World Preschool Yearbook
Inspiration from the artwork was drawn from the playground on the Access CNY property. Soft edges and shapes were prioritized, as well as bright colors and fun patterns for the inside pages. The decision to leave the outside cover blank only came after the illustration was completed, with the realization that kids between 3-5 love doodling and creating their own visions.
For book printing – we collaborated with TreeRing, a company that specializes in yearbook layout and has a very user-friendly software for file uploading and proofing.
Additional classroom group photos and collage photo pages were also included – not pictured in mockups.
