With cannabis laws changing in New York State, Tap Root was eager to offer new products to their customers. We worked to find solutions for their THC gummy and vape products that were visually appealing, while staying within the lines of the strict NYS Cannabis marketing guidelines. The physical packaging itself being somewhat small in size presented layout challenges to find the most organized way possible to include product name, net weights, serving sizes, required warnings, nutrition labels, barcodes, QR codes and batch codes, and other small information.
Between the collaboration with NOWAVE (a co-packing and distributing company based out of Rochester NY), Paper Tube Co. (for vape packaging), and the team at Tap Root, these brand new cannabis products are now out and ready for purchase.

Final Gummy Solutions:
Tin Container & Resealable Pouch
Initially, several different options were presented showing varying visuals from abstract to literal, including some different color combinations as well. We were required to stay away from anything over-saturated or neon, bubbly or cartoon fonts, metallic patterns/textures, and anything that could be deemed attractive to consumers under 18 years of age.
We were still able to find a balance with bright colors combined with fun graphics, showcasing a new look from their traditional CBD product line that uses more subdued colors.

Final Vape Solution: Paper Tube
Working within the same guidelines as for the gummies, varying color combinations and abstract shapes were presented. The tube had more limitations since it was more vertical than the gummy tin, and we wanted to focus on the wrapping/continuous visual around the circular shape of it.
We decided on a free form lava lamp-esque layout, which ended up being used in two different eye-catching color combinations for the 2 different THC strains being offered for the product.

THC Product Line Sub-Brand Guide
Being a brand new product, the team at Tap Root wanted to differentiate it from their other CBD and food items. An adjusted logo was created, as well as outlining the most frequent colors and fonts used.
